Red Bordeaux can produce a wide range of flavors as evident through the blending.  Grape varietals that may be included (in various quantities) are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot.  When pairing foods with Bordeaux, be sure to take into account the main varietal in the blend.
