Aberlour
A' Bunadh Single Malt Scotch
Origin: Scotland
Region:
Highland
95 Points -Beverage Testing Institute
"Rich amber.
Powerful, estery nose. An oily textured, medium-to full-bodied palate with intense burnt caramel, peat and salty, vinous
elements. Aggressively
spicy yet surprisingly approachable given its size. A big
warming finish at the
end. A touch of water calms the beast and brings out the mellow sherried oak and
dry caramel nuance. -Beverage Tasting Institute

Ardbeg
10yr Single Malt Scotch
Origin: Scotland
Region: Islay
90-95 Points
-Wine Enthusiast
"The opening nose gives a jolt of what makes Ardbeg a cult malt:
mesmerizing peatiness that’s borderline medicine chest and fresh
cigar ash...First taste is dry and concentrated; the midpalate
turns surprisingly sweet, oily and only moderately peaty-smoky.
The finish is long, embers-warm, ashy and a bit unruly...most
drinkable offering I've evaluated." -Wine Enthusiast

The Balvenie
10 Year Founder's Reserve Single Malt Scotch
Origin: Scotland
Region:
Speyside
90-95 Points/Best Buy -Wine Enthusiast
"Dark amber
hue. The opening aroma is pronounced, sassy, peppery
and peaty; aeration stimulates added scents of Sherry, smoke,
tobacco leaf and
sweet malt. On the palate, a sweet, oaky richness is evident immediately;
by midpalate, well-endowed flavors of vanilla cream, caramel and Sherry
overwhelm the taste buds. The endless aftertaste is round, smoky
and toffee-like.
A Balvenie benchmark. Best Buy."

Bowmore
12 Year Islay Single Malt Scotch
Origin: Scotland
Region: Islay
85-89 Points -Wine Enthusiast
"The unabashedly briny opening bouquet is all peat, sea salt and
salted focaccia; time in the glass serves to bring out a refined
Sherry scent. In the mouth, it’s lean, surprisingly sweet and
acutely resiny. Ends pine-like, resiny, moderately salty, fruity
(yellow fruit, like yellow plum or banana) and semisweet." -Wine

"Rich
amber color. Sweet, perfumed, tropical fruit juice, lavender, dried herbs, and camphor aromas . A supple entry leads to a
dry-yet-fruity medium -bodied palate with sweet dried tropical
fruit, marinated peppers, honeyed toast, toffee, smoky peat, and
a touch of menthol and cedar. Finishes with a peppery dry fade
of honey, tobacco, and cedar. A rich, balanced, and flavorful Islay malt."

"Aged in Bourbon casks for 12 years, then finished in oloroso
Sherry butts for 3 more years. Old copper-penny color. Bouquet
screams “oloroso” right from the first whiff; aroma deepens with
aeration, becoming like a nutty palo cortado Sherry. In the
mouth, it’s chewy, supple and rich, emitting a fine balance of
Islay." -Wine Enthusiast |

the palate, the richness is subtle and refined as flavors of
apple, lemon, and barley come together nicely. The finish is
semisweet and dark toffee-like A supple, understated malt that
requires some element of patience, but it’s well worth the
wait."

"This was quite enjoyable; its spciy, noses and tastes of
orange peel, honey, berries of some sort. It's enjoyable
neat with a few drops of water. Sure, it's only 80 proof,
but it offers sufficient ooomph to please the palate and
warm the belly." -Alcoholreviews.com
