"Celler Mas Doix’s top offering, the 2003 Costers de Vinas
Viejas, is an amazing elixir...it boasts a deep
blue/purple/black color as well as a striking perfume of liquid
minerals interwoven with blue and black fruits, acacia flowers,
and a hint of scorched earth. It possesses great texture,
fabulous purity, a multilayered, skyscraper-like mid-palate, and
a profound finish that lasts for nearly a minute. This legendary
Spanish red should drink well young yet age effortlessly for
12-15+ years. Bravo!" -Robert Parker

91 POINTS/ Editor's Choice!
"There's a slightly nutty-almondy edge to the black cherry and
plum aromas, then lovely flaovrs of brandied fruitcake laden
with baking spices and dried fruit. Yet at the same time, it's
not over-the-top rich, and very drinkable with food. A long,
supple, fruit-filled finish seals the deal. Drink now-2015."

"I was blown away by the 2002 Chardonnay Unfiltered, one
of California’s finest Chardonnays made from a 30-year-old
vineyard planted with old Wente clones. This cuvee ages well, as
a gorgeous bottle of 1992 tasted recently demonstrated.
Nevertheless, I prefer drinking them within their first 6-7
years. A huge, floral and white peach nose with some oily citrus
and tropical fruit (primarily pineapple) jumps from the glass of
this powerful, broad, but beautifully layered wine that is
harmonious and pure. As the wine sits in the glass, some of that
famous gout de petrole emerges, which is a characteristic I
often find in Montrachets and Meursault-Perrieres. The wine has
good acidity and should prove to be one of the top Chardonnays
of the vintage." -Robert

"The 2003 Gigondas Les Espalines is aged in small barrels,
boasting a deep color, great concentration of fruit, and fine
precision as well as delineation. A blend of 75% Grenache, 20%
Mourvedre, and 5% Syrah, it exhibits plenty of blueberry, black
currant, cherry, and dusty, powdered mineral notes along with a
heady finish. It should drink well for a decade." -Robert Parker

POINTS/ WINE SPECTATOR'S CELLAR SELECTION!
"A classy and impressive young Bordeaux from an appellation that
stepped up in '96. Dark-colored, with plenty of currant and
spice aromas, the wine is full-bodied, with very velvety tannins
and allspice, berry and currant flavors. Long, long finish. One
of the wines of the vintage, it's a beauty. Best after 2005."

"The 2004 Shiraz Angel’s Share is a hedonistic effort. A deep
ruby/purple color is accompanied by a fruit-filled wine with a
gorgeously complex nose of lead pencil shavings, charcoal,
blackberries, and cassis. Medium to full-bodied, with admirable
purity, balance, and the tell-tale opulence and voluptuous
texture this estate’s wines all seem to possess, it should be
enjoyed over the next 7-8 years." -Robert Parker
