93 POINTS!!!
“Ripe with gamy and smoky
elements, it has balancing structure and an alluring finish. It
is a far more complex wine than you'd expect from this DOC, and
a great bargain.” -Michael Apstein
Grape Varieties: 85% Sangiovese;
10% Canaiolo Nero and 5% Mammolo
Serving Suggestion: The wine is
well suited for red and white meats~ fowl and less imposing game
dishes. Open at the moment it is to be served.

87
Points/Best Buy!...”Solid
and clean, this well-made Chard includes a generous portion
of Semillon, which fleshes it out. The dominant flavors are
tangerine and citrus, and the wine sets up crisply in the
mouth without feeling stripped or sour in any way.” -Wine

87 Points/Best Buy!...”An
excellent Merlot; certainly
the best at this price point that I have tasted in the past
15 years. Good, solid black
cherry fruit is accented with coffee ground flavors. None of
the usual vegetal flavors that plaque wines at this price,
nor are the tannins anything but ripe and smooth...real
fruit concentration through the midpalate.” -Wine Enthusiast

“Fresh, clean and appealing, this crisp New Zealand

This Pinot Noir is a brilliant ruby color with aromas of
strawberry and overtones of smoked tea and spice. Bright
flavors of strawberry, layered with a subtle touch of
vanilla oak, lead to a rich, full fruit finish...Try with
pork chops smothered in a mushroom cream sauce.

Lagers--well over ninety
percent of the beer consumed in the United States falls into the
broad category of lager. The majority of these lagers are of the
light yellow to golden hued variety that most all of us are
familiar with. Most of those are mass produced for mass
consumption. Does that mean there can’t be expertly crafted
examples that stand heads and shoulders above the competition?
One that offers sublime taste and refreshment? Of course not!
Sierra Nevada has hit the mark with their Summerfest offering.
A reserved, frothy white head
crowns a perfectly clear, light gold body with effervescent
carbonation. The aroma begins with the subtle sweetness of
light, fluffy breads and wildflower honey. Delicate citric,
floral and grassy hop notes bring balance to the equation. The
flavor is never too intense in a single direction; always
balanced and always nimble. Starting with a soft sweetness it
rolls into a moderately hoppy, grassy finish. The palate is
light, yet creamy in texture, with a brisk carbonation. Sierra
Nevada Summerfest is a warm-weather, lawn-mower beer with
absolute class from start to finish.
