"Dark black-brown, with a generous creamy tan colored head. Moderately full-bodied. Mild bitterness. Fruity, vinous, burnt raisin aromas. Sensationally rich, decadent palate with opulent roasted malt flavors and a touch sweetness to keep this in perfect balance. A classic, rich interpretation of the Porter style." -Beverage Testing Institute

A tribute beer for Hunter S. Thompson. Like Hunter this beer is deep and complex. Gonzo Imperial Porter has been brewed with black, chocolate and crystal malts, and hopped with Millennium and Cascades. This is a turbo charged version of the Road Dog and at 9.5% ABV it will bite you in the ass if you don't show it the proper respect. Proceeds from the sale of Gonzo Imperial Porter will go towards building the Gonzo Memorial Fist in Aspen. The 150 foot stone column complete with a giant red fist at its summit will tower above Hunter’s Owl Farm Estate for all eternity.

"Showcasing a mahogany color and a silky tan head, this porter tenders very noticeable hops in both its flavor and aroma, as well as coffee notes. And while Sierra Nevada’s version is a bit hoppier than other porters, we’d expect nothing less from this hop-friendly brewery." -Draft Magazine

"Dark coffee-like appearance. Earthy and hoppy aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate with sweet-bitter notes that turn sweeter on the finish. Highly drinkable and typical of the English style in being more restrained than many domestic examples." -Beverage Testing Institute
