Fine Wine Review: "The Fine
Wine Review is an independent review of wines that began in 1986
and appears approximately six times a year...The emphasis is on
wines in all price ranges that are well-made and reflect the
individual character of their place of origin and
maker...Coverage is primarily of French (especially Burgundy and
Northern Rhône) and German wines, and I am now expanding the
emphasis into Barolo and Barbaresco."

International Eastern Wine Competition:
"The IEWC was established in 1975 to judge
and promote all wines marketed in the United States and Canada,
and to provide a means to compare and give recognition to the
wines produced in the many different wine regions of the world.
Today, it is one of the largest and most competitive tastings in
North America, annually awarding nearly 50 percent of eligible
entrants in a given year. The event has earned a well-justified
reputation for the quality of its organization, judgements and
awards. Judges are wine-knowledgeable professionals and media
specialists who represent major East Coast markets from Miami to
Toronto, and include winemakers. They are assembled for their
knowledge and interest in wine and their ability to help market
or merchandise wines."

Jerry D
Mead's New World
International Wine Competition:
"Jerry D. Mead's New World International Wine Competition was
established in 1990. Jerry D. Mead was a well known and
syndicated wine columnist, publisher, and consultant. Mr. Mead
was also founder of the worlds largest California-only wine
competition, the Orange County Fair Commercial Wine Competition.
It was his desire to establish a wine competition that, for the
first time in America and perhaps the world, to pit the best
wines from each price class against each other resulting in a
Best of Variety award. Further he wished to offer Bronze, Silver
and Gold Medals for excellence, and also sponsored trophies to
recognize "Best of Class" and "Best of Show". This desire
was realized in 1990 with the first annual "Jerry D. Mead's New
World International Wine Competition". He was very proud of this
competition, feeling that it ultimately served the interests of
wine consumers worldwide."
